Project summary
Children and adolescents born with a heart defect (CHD) present a high risk of developmental impairments. These challenges can have significant impacts on the person with CHD, their family, and society. Unfortunately, there is no uniform approach to identify these developmental challenges across Canada, and current developmental follow-up practices may not allow for their timely detection. As a result, important opportunities for interventions that could help these kids and teens may be lost. The aim of BRIGHT Care Pathways for CHD is to develop recommendations that will improve the identification of developmental delays in children and adolescents with CHD across Canada.
Research theme: BRIGHT Prospects: Projects to bridge the gap between interventions and policy
Audience: Children and adolescents born with a heart defect (CHD).
Phase 1 study: MATernal hyperoxygenation in Congenital Heart Disease (MATCH)
