CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH BRAIN-BASED DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES?
I was born at 25 weeks, weighing 1 pound, 6 ounces. I have mild right hemiplegia cerebral palsy. I have had physiotherapy and other forms of treatment. I am very independent although I have slowly come to learn that it is human to ask for help sometimes. While some days are more difficult than others, I think it is crucial to persevere and know that it makes us stronger. Whatever our differences may be, they should not stop us or others from being treated with compassion.
